'Tis the season for gifting and giving, so we’ve partnered with an incredible local charity, Johnson County Christmas Bureau (JCCB), to showcase their Festival of Trees display at the Holiday Boutique.

Holiday Scene

The Johnson County Christmas Bureau is a 501(C)(3) non-profit, non-denominational agency created to provide the county’s low-income families with groceries, clothes, toys, hats, gloves, socks, adult and teen gifts, books and personal care items for the holidays. The Bureau began as an adopt-a-family project in 1960 by a group of women from the Shawnee Mission Chapter of AAUW; the Holiday Shop format was introduced in 1977.

Although Johnson County has a reputation for affluence, the rising level of poverty in the county has caused the number of families seeking holiday assistance from the Bureau to greatly increase over the last 3 years. The Festival of Trees will consist of 100+ decorated trees and wreaths donated by area business, families, and individuals. The proceeds from the sale of these items go directly to the Johnson County Christmas Bureau.

In addition, the Holiday Boutique will be an official drop off location for the Johnson County Christmas Bureau. Folks can bring gently used coats and non-perishable food items to the Holiday Boutique - just place your donations in our Collection Barrels. Together we can help support the Johnson County Christmas Bureau and those in need in the KC area.
